1DozenBeers: Vale IPA India Pale Ale [8/10]

Vale IPA India Pale Ale

"Now this is good. It's crisp on the tongue, fruity, has a great flavour and an excellent finish. Easily one of the best beers I've had in months."
Style: Pale Ale

1DozenBeers: Bighead No Carb Beer [4/10]

Bighead No Carb Beer

"The brewer's site describes this as 'we managed something no Australian brewer had done before. Full flavour and zero carbs'. I wouldn't say that they managed to achieve this. My thought, on first sip was 'this is a bit weak'. Not a great taste, little flavour, not much bubbles - all in all, a somewhat disappointing experience."
Style: Lager

1DozenBeers: Prickly Moses Summer Ale [6/10]

So, I got a box of a dozen craft beers for Christmas and I thought I'd resurrect an old blog I used to write that detailed different beers I'd tried and what I thought of them. This is the first one.

Prickly Moses Summer Ale

"There a few review sites around that didn't give this one a great score. Phrases like 'poor head', 'weak colour', 'not enough hops' and 'little taste' are in some respects completely correct. But another way to look at it, this is a great little summer drink for those hot days when you don't want anything heavy. I tasted this in 31c heat and it was bloody good. Easy to drink, crisp finish and a nice enough taste. The aftertaste hung around for about half an hour, but in all quite drinkable. Easy recommendation for a hot summer afternoon."
Style: Golden Ale

More help for the 'I can't be bothered to learn how to write' generation...

"An addendum to my post from 26 June. More of the same problems with simple explanations (though I do have a problem with Fewer / Less as the example says 'Less' should be used when you can't count the article. The example can be counted, just not easily). Anyway, have fun."

The Psychology of Colour

"Psychology has always interested me and this chart is great example of how; what we do, is affected by what we see."

Dear Every Generation Since Mine, learn to spell...

"I read a lot for work and even more for fun and I'm surprised / disappointed just how many mistakes people make when writing. If only people referered to this chart before sending their message..."

Not all 51 year olds are made equal

"I like food, I really, really do so I appreciate this comparison. I doubt it's completely healthy for me but I think it's better to live and have fun than spend all of your time denying yourself in the hope of living longer. Is life about quality or quantity?
Maybe I need to strike the balance between - I look a lot more like Nigellea than Gillian (notwithstanding the male / female thing).
Either way, I'm never having a colonic irrigation."
